How many children do you have and what are their ages?

I have one son, and he’s 7 years old.

What do you appreciate most about your child’s personality?

I have a love-hate relationship with my child’s personality. I do appreciate his stubbornness, that is something that once adolescence is over will help him achieve his goals no matter how hard his life will get.

What is something you allowed your child to do that you swore before you never would?

Breastfeed past 1 year old, share my bed, eat junk food, and also 99% of the things I allow him to do.

What is one thing your parents did for you that you made sure to do for your child?

My parents taught me the importance of family time and traveling. They also invested so much in our education and always pushed us to be the best we could, so that is definitely something that I will continue to do with my son.

How has motherhood changed the way you feel about your body?

I have never suffered low self esteem when it comes to my body, I think our bodies are temples and we should be grateful for what has been gifted to us. One thing I know for sure is that I adore my body for gifting me the greatest love of my life.

The Woman

What are some of your passions that you have continued pursuing since your child was born?

I love to travel and taught my son early on that experiencing new cultures, and seeing new places is the best investment you can do with your money. My parents taught me that no one can steal your experiences and feelings, and I am happy that I can pass that along to my son.

What is one of your passions that you gave up after becoming a mom? Do you plan to pick it up again?

I have been lucky in the sense that I did not have passions that I had to give up when becoming a mom. I think becoming a mom woke up many passions that I did not know I had.

The quarantine is over, where is the first place you want to go?

Vacation…vacation…vacation…I need sun and sand in my life to feel complete.

Tell us about your favorite book.

I like Who Moved My Cheese? by Dr. Spencer Johnson about how to better embrace and adapt to the changes in our lives.

What do you like to do to relax and take care of yourself?

I love face products and masks so any chance I get, that is my treat.

What She’s Learned

What has motherhood taught you about your own mother?

Only when I became a mom I understood where my mom gets the energy and desire to never give up hope. Moms are strong, because strong is the only choice they can have most of the time. I was raised by a strong woman that raised empowered children. The woman she is and the soul she has sets my goals for my life, even though I know that filling her shoes is nearly impossible.

What is something you have learned that you wish more mothers knew?

Children go through phases and no matter what your child is going through right now, most likely it shall pass. If you are going through an unchangeable situation, just accept it and press on.

What do you miss most about your life before children?

Making decisions just for myself. Now no matter what I decide, I know that it is not just me that I am deciding for.

Which quote or saying do you like to remember when life gets you down?

“What if I fall?” “Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?”

You’re a Magnificent Mama! Who helped you become the woman you are today?

My mom, the woman that is my rock and where I feel safe to always be myself.
