Mama Musings

Attention stay at home mom! It’s time for us to stop being so polite ladies, and drop some knowledge on the masses.  Too many people think that one of the hardest jobs on Earth isn’t a job but a luxury.  The work we do is draining, messy, thankless and never-ending.  It comes with an enormous amount of sacrifice.  We deal with mommy guilt over our big and small decisions, even though we’re doing our best.

Personally, I stay home because my son has some medical and therapy challenges to overcome. I want to give him the best possible start in life by dedicating myself 100% to helping him in every way.  It takes a village to raise a child and you need support and solidarity mama.  There are plenty of women who have made the same decision to be a stay at home mom to their children.  Whether it’s temporary or long term, this time in your life is rewarding and challenging.  Maybe you’re in the clingy teething baby phase, doing things you’ve never imagined were part of the job description. Maybe you’re figuring out what to bring for the bake sale that isn’t on the restricted ingredient list. (Thank you, Bad Moms!)

Whoever you are and whatever obstacles the day brings, you deserve to know that even on your bad days, your best is good enough.  There are some amazing sites that keep it real about motherhood, like Her View From Home and Scary Mommy.  I hope my blog makes you feel a little better, we’re all hot messes at the end of the day.  Now go fold that laundry in the dryer! Just kidding, you know I love my jokes.

Love ya Sis,

-The Micro Mama
